From its very roots, Faith Christian Center has been a community of believers who love Jesus Christ and love each other. We are a family of Spirit-filled bible believers desiring to be all that God has called us to be. Although we may come from diverse ethnic, social, and economic backgrounds, we enjoy a common faith and bond of unity in Christ. We are committed to developing a strong, caring community that is reaching our world with the love of Jesus Christ. We are a church that Love is building and we believe your experience at FCC will give you an opportunity to see God's love in action!

What are people saying about FCC?

"We are a family here. We support each other in times of need and rejoice together in times of celebration. FCC is not only our church, but our home."  - Gary & Lucy

"Living in a world with so much uncertainty, Faith Christian Center is a place that leads you straight to what is certain; GOD'S LOVE for YOU! The Pastoral leadership teaches how thriving as powerful Christians is not merely a concept, but rather our promise & position. The church family is simply a bunch of  people with real life experiences, willing to be used to encourage & love all who walk through it's doors." - TJ

"I am happy to be a member at Faith Christian Center where there are pastors and people that live lives of integrity founded on their own relationship w the Lord and the Word of God. I believe the leaders are trustworthy examples of great men & women that care about us & are building a loving church. We all have a need to be involved in something bigger than ourselves. FCC has relevant places to participate & develop our personal gifts & I  am hopeful that is being developed to a greater degree. At FCC, you can know you are a part of the Lord's work in the earth and part of a great family." - Linda

We Are

Faith Christian Center

Our Story

In 1978, God called a couple from Texas, Rev. Sam Smith (1934-2006) & his wife Donna, to begin a work in New England. On March 4th of the following year, Faith Christian Center had its first service at a small Grange Hall in East Providence, RI with twelve people in attendance. Within a year, the congregation grew and it became necessary to move to the fellowship hall of the First Baptist Church in Rumford, RI. With our numbers steadily on the rise, it was necessary to find a location where we could rent our own space, set up offices, and make ourselves at home. So, in the fall of 1981, we moved into the Briarwood Shopping Plaza in Seekonk, MA.

Faith Christian Center continued to grow exponentially, and it became apparent that we need our very own location. In August of 1983, we purchased 32 acres of land at our current location on Sagamore Road in Seekonk, MA. Property that was formerly a landfill would now be utilized for God’s kingdom. We broke ground in April of 1986. In the summer of 1987, construction was completed and we officially opened the doors of our current location.

Our founding pastor, Pastor Sam Smith was a graduate of the charter class of RHEMA Bible Training College in 1975. During his years of ministry at FCC, Pastor Sam was a pastor to many pastors, and although he officially ‘retired’ from ministry in 1999, he continued to fill that role until he went home to be with the Lord in June, 2006. After his official retirement in 1999, he delegated the pastorate to his associate pastor, Rev. David Marquard, who pastored FCC from 2000-2008.

In December of 2008, Pastor John L. Pfeffer, Jr. became senior pastor of FCC. Pastor John graduated from RHEMA Bible Training College in 1982. Pastor John became a member of FCC in 1989, and he has since served as an elder, Group Care Leader, New Members Class & Spiritual Authority teacher, associate pastor and School of Ministry director. Pastor John stands in the office of pastor & teacher, and continues to faithfully serve FCC along with his wife, Anita.
