Our Story

Where we are headed...

Pastor Chris Pfeffer became the lead pastor in January of 2023.  He and his wife, Jennifer, have served in leadership roles since 2007 and are grounded in the foundation that has been established by FCC’s strong Biblical teaching. Pastor Chris began his position as the executive pastor at FCC in 2017, before his transition to lead pastor.  Pastor Chris’ vision for FCC is to provide discipleship for everyone in our church community to live as Christ Followers.  Committed to the Great Commission, Pastor Chris is called to see FCC become “The Lord's Church,” by empowering the people to impact the world around them by making a difference in the lives of others, through acts of kindness, in love, that will draw others to Christ.

How it all started...

In 1978, God called a couple from Texas, Rev. Sam Smith (1934-2006) & his wife Donna, to begin a work in New England. On March 4th of the following year, Faith Christian Center had its first service with twelve people in attendance. In less than 10 years, the church continued to grow and move to 3 locations before opening the doors at its current location on Sagamore Road in Seekonk, MA.

Expanding the vision...

Our founding pastor, Pastor Sam Smith was a graduate of the charter class of RHEMA Bible Training College in 1975.  During his years of ministry at FCC, Pastor Sam was a pastor to many pastors, and although he officially ‘retired’ from ministry in 1999, he continued to fill that role until he went home to be with the Lord in June, 2006.
After his official retirement in 1999, he delegated the pastorate to his associate pastor, Rev. David Marquard.  Pastor David and his wife  Ann  were longtime members of FCC.  Pastor David pastored FCC from 2000-2008.
Pastor John L. Pfeffer, Jr. with his wife Anita began serving the FCC community in leadership roles beginning in 1989 and Pastor John faithfully began serving as the lead pastor in December of 2008. Pastor John and Anita retired in January of 2023 but continue to remain active as part of the FCC community and leadership team.
